It’s time to enrol for the Digital Storytelling Festival in Aberystwyth. The date for this year is 17th June 2009 at the Arts Centre on the campus of the University of Wales. It’s always good value and if you’re travelling you can stay overnight on the campus for a very reasonable rate.
There’s more information here
Sadly I can’t be there this year as I’m running a workshop in Dorset on that date.

Faith Stories
Friday, March 20th, 2009I’ve just finished uploading more stories to the digistoriesuk YouTube channel. This latest batch is from two workshops which were run for faith communities. A church called Harrogate New Life and the summer school of Riding Lights Theatre Company. There are some quite remarkable stories here as well as others that are gentle and reassuring in the sense that not every story has to be defined a crisis or disaster. This one is from Ann Bentley – a school teacher in Harrogate.
There are also a couple of my stories in there. “Sleeping Under Cover” is the first digital story I made whilst training at the BBC. It, too, is about faith.
Engenious Stories
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009
A new name for the stories produced in the Engineers workshop – Engenious Stories. I’ve assembled them into a single playlist. Take a look
The workflow continues
Sunday, February 8th, 2009I spent Friday morning in East Dorset explaining to a group of people in Wimborne Minster how digital storytelling works. These sessions do me as much good as the people I’m presenting to. Somehow it re-ignites my vision for the whole process, and as the group start to tell stories of their own I get a new sense of how many stories are waiting to be told.
So sometime this spring I shall be in Dorset Training Trainers to deliver workshops of their own.
And on Monday I am at the National Media Museum in Bradford to start a workshop for Broadcast Engineers. The weather’s not looking too kind at the moment (Sunday evening) but hopefully the train will take me there – and those participating.
Still time to book your place
