Ofcom report on Media Literacy

The report was researched by the Department of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and published by OFCOM in 2005.


Digital Storytelling was taken as a case study and highlighted as one means of improving the nation's media literacy.

.. The case study on digital storytelling indicates the value to the public of opportunities for media creation, as well as key barriers, and it highlights the importance of enjoying media creation in facilitating media literacy.

DCMS review of BBC Online

Philip Graf carried out an independent review of the BBCs Online activities for the Department of Culture, Media and Science. In his subsequent report (Report of the Independent Review of BBC Online)

He encouraged the production of User Generated Content and listed digital storytelling as one example of how the BBC was begining to fulfil that remit. See page 13.
